First things first!
So here we are blogging, a pretty new thing for us to try our hand at - but hey, it is a good time to have a go while we all have a little extra time from our usual working day.
We thought for our first post, we’d like to share with you a little positivity during the uncertain times we all face at present. As a lot of you are aware, plenty of industries have ground to a halt with still no clarity of when it may be safe to start back up again. Our beloved entertainment industry in which a lot of our own work develops from will remain dark for a good while to come, meaning a lot of freelancers, performers and smaller companies within it, face a long struggle to not only keep creating, but to stay afloat and function during this downtime and also once the industry is able to continue as usual.
Theatresupportfund+ is a wonderful venture, set up to raise funds for 3 different charities that aim their support and help for people in the theatre industry who face financial and emotional difficulties during this crisis, as well as one that supports our beloved NHS! They have produced a number of items to remind you all that ‘The show must go on!’ Not only can you jazz up your t-shirt collection, you can jot down all those creative ideas you’ve had through lockdown with the bespoke, designed products you can get you hand on right now! Check out their website and also do check out who you will be supporting with every purchase below.
https://www.actingforothers.co.uk - provides financial and emotional support to all theatre workers in times of need through the 14 member charities.
https://sohotheatre.com/fleabagsupportfund/ - provides support to freelancers working in theatre, comedy and cabaret who are unable to work as a direct result of the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic.
https://www.nhscharitiestogether.co.uk - NHS Charities Together is a collective experience representing, supporting and championing the work of the NHS’ official charities. NHS Charities give £1million a day to the NHS, providing vital funds to help the NHS do more.
Thanks for reading our first blog post and hope you are all keeping well and healthy!
